Neoprene Swimsocks

From April 5 we will start delivering our new socks. 3CM longer at the ankle so that people with a somewhat shorter wetsuit can still wear the socks under the wetsuit!

1) 2 / 3MM Neoprene taped keeps your feet warm in water above 12 degrees Celsius
2) 4 + MM Neoprene taped keeps your feet warm in water above 5 degrees Celsius
3) Thicker neoprene means less flexibility, you can choose our ice swim oversocks for this or wear several socks on top of each other!

We also recommend that you take a look at our pink and blue socks. These are better insulated than this black one and are made of slightly stiffer neoprene. Buy them too big rather than too small!

Christian Dackus, the supplier of these socks, has been swimming in the cold water for years and has tried out all the professional looking socks from the major triathlon brands. However, properly taped and stitched seams and the thickness of the neoprene are crucial factors in keeping it relatively warm. The shape of these socks is simple, but the thickness and the possibility to wear them under your wetsuit pipes make these socks, in addition to the even thicker and stiffer ove socks, the only really well-functioning open water socks out there. In addition, they are just manageable to easily put on and to transfer 2 pairs over each other.

The Velcro around the ankle and wrist allows you to close the sock or glove tightly and seal it around your wrist and ankle and under your wetsuit. This prevents too much water from entering.

With the Swim Chicky & Swim Hunky Swimming Socks and Swimming Gloves, you can confidently enter the cold water. Then finish your outfit with a Neoprene swimming cap (2.5mm) in the color orange, blue or pink of the same brand. The swimming cap is also slightly thinner because we recommend that you also simply wear a silicone swimming cap under your neoprene swimming cap. You are used to that and keep your earplugs and swimming goggles in place. To better keep the strap in place, you can also pull a silicone swim cap over it.

What is the difference with socks and gloves of 5mm or more?
You find that many people are looking for a solution at colder temperatures. If the temperature of the water drops below 10 degrees, 3mm socks and / or gloves may not be warm enough for you anymore. You can then choose a thicker neoprene or you can also wear 2 pairs of socks on top of each other. The thicker the neoprene, the stiffer but also the warmer. You are best protected with 2 pairs on top of each other. Ideal is to wear the 3MM and wear the ice swim over socks over it.
